why Short Inca trail 2 days

This Short Inca Trail has become more popular since the last couple of years for the limit issue. There are many customers that want to experience the original Inca trail; however, not all have 4 days available to complete the classic Inca trail to Machu Picchu. Therefore, we have designed an Inca Trail of 2 days or a Short Inca Trail with camping, especially so that travellers can experience the authentic Inca trail with its spectacular vistas of Machu Picchu and the surrounding Andes without having to sacrifice anything else from their itinerary!

On this amazing journey, we take you through luscious green mountains along the original Inca trail path, which is surrounded by spectacular Incan ruins and Andean flora and fauna. The Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu culminates with you passing through the amazing Sun Gate entrance to Machu Picchu, where you will be able to see the iconic view of Machu Picchu and appreciate it in all its splendour at sunrise.

To begin this Inca Trail 2 days, we travel by bus for approximately 2 hours to Ollantaytambo train station and then continue onto kilometer 104 of the Inca Trail by train for another 1.5 hours. You will travel in a special carriage, giving you panoramic views of the stunning Andean countryside. You can also observe how the environment changes, transforming from tropical forest into spectacular rocky mountain ranges, as we ascend and approach our destination and the start point of the hike.
